The solution I pursued was combining traditional Javanese architecture with a modern concept. By preserving approximately 70% of the building's exterior and improving the existing structure, a new, fresher design emerged. In some areas, the house feels very comfortable and modern, while in others, it respectfully reminds you of the building's original traditional Javanese character.

The solution I pursued was combining traditional Javanese architecture with a modern concept. By preserving approximately 70% of the building's exterior and improving the existing structure, a new, fresher design emerged. The detailed architectural concept focuses on blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces through wide openings and the use of a transparent canopy facing an inner courtyard or side garden. New materials like exposed stone, concrete roster blocks, and metal accents are combined with wood-textured ceilings to maintain a tropical and warm ambiance. The interior layout uses the bar counter as an elegant visual divider between the lounge area and the kitchen, enhancing both functionality and interaction.
